Après six saisons passées sur France Inter à collecter les droits d’auteur, Guillermo Guiz dresse, dans ce troisième spectacle, un bilan mitigé de ce qui lui reste d’engagement politique… La quarantaine molle, mais lucide, il parle d’argent, de confort et d’engagement. Des valeurs progressistes, il en a aussi, c’est pas le problème, mais elles sont dans leur emballage d’origine, sur une étagère dédiée, comme des figurines. « A quoi sert-il d’avoir des valeurs si l’on ne s’en sert pas ? », se demande-t-il dans La formidable ascension sociale temporaire de G. Verstraeten, spectacle sur l’embourgeoisement qui anesthésie, la liberté de ton et la société qui se bouleverse. Parce que, paradoxalement, même si on entend souvent qu’on ne peut plus rien dire, tout ça tout ça, on serait, d'après l'humoriste belge, plus que jamais en plein âge d’or du stand-up. Et ce serait dommage de ne pas en rigoler.
